My Story

At the age of 48, I found out the hard way that life is not fair. I faced two roads: one for victims and one for victors. I chose the latter.

The values by which I govern my life – humility, honesty, integrity, dedication and loyalty – act as both my anchor and compass resulting in excellence in all that I do, as my normal standard.

I have spent approximately 10 years of my life equipping people on all levels of society with the skills of efficacy, courage and purpose. Suddenly and quite unexpectedly these skills became personal when I pressed the “reset button” on my own life. Studying full time to equip myself in a field where pensionable age was not applicable, became the goal. With a clear and tangible higher calling, law became the obvious choice.

Enrolling to study law on a full time basis, at an advanced age, was to say the least, utterly challenging. When the going gets tough, the tough gets going… so I gave it my all and by the grace of God alone, completed my LLB degree Cum Laude as the best overall student over 4 years.

Ever since I can remember, I have always been active in community development. It is this sense of connection that acts as the fuel that keeps us going and gives meaning to our lives. In a society where materialism seems to be the order of the day, it is my heartfelt belief that the only remedy for this illness is purposeful living.
